How to Identify a Tractor Starter Motor by Teeth, Voltage and Mounting
Starter motor inquiries should include the OEM number plus pinion teeth, voltage label, rotation clues, and mounting photos when visible.
A starter motor can look similar while differing in pinion teeth, mounting flange, voltage, nose housing, or terminal position. The safest inquiry starts with the OEM number and adds photos of the old starter from multiple angles.
If the OEM number is missing, count the pinion teeth carefully, photograph the mounting flange and terminals, and include machine model, engine information when known, and serial number. Do not rely on model name alone.
